Please note that the following review is my personal point of view as an adult LEGO fan and builder. Also note that pictures enclosed this review do not represent the full final product (Vehicles, Minifigures and road crossing not shown). The LEGO City Cargo Train (CCT) set is a bland LEGO experience. Final builds consist of 1 locomotive, 3 cargo train carts, 2 vehicles (fork lift and security van), 6 Minifigures, control tower, 16 curved + 16 straight rails (Ballasted) and 1 railway switch point. The Powered Up components include 1 Bluetooth remote and 1 train engine. Connectivity and response work flawless between engine and remote control (Also applicable with cellphone app). Models are pretty easy builds, and well suited for younger LEGO builders. CCT comes with a hefty price tag, considering number and type of LEGO elements. The final train models are missing an overall feel of design quality. The log and container train carts derail too easy due to fixed/static wheel set mountings. They should have been mounted with wheel arrangements similar to the locomotive and crane carts. Also, the loose cargo parts (Wood logs and containers) fly off their carts when train is in motion. Annoying and disappointing design flaws, typically caused by forced deadline and rushed release. The CCT is an acceptable LEGO set with some good features such as road vehicle rail crossing (Embedded concrete track slab) and the great looking locomotive. CCT is recommendable though far from being the best LEGO train available. For once, it feels as if LEGO chose to prioritize quantity over quality.

Een hele leuke set. En mij zoon is erg echt blij mee. Speelt er elke dag mee en papa speelt soms stiekem er ook mee. We zijn al aan het sparen voor andere treinen sets. Dat is waar de leuke gedeelte ophoud en ook de reden dat is 3 positieve sterren geef.
Ik ben als ouder zijn wel een beetje teleurstellend in Lego en ook in Intertoys. Je betaald een vermogen om zo'n set te komen, ik en mijn vrouwtje hebben het niet breed en moesten goed sparen om deze set te kopen voor mijn zoon. Maar wat ons tegen valt is dat er geen batterijen bij word geleverd. Zelfs niet eens een powerblock die opgeladen kan worden van lego zelf. 9 aaa batterijen heb je nodig om die set aan de praat te krijgen. 6 aaa voor de trein, 3 aaa voor de afstandsbediening. Gelukkig kan die die laatste besparen door een mobiel te gebruiken. Maar even goed, zelfs het aan schaffen van oplaadbare batterijen is nu al erg prijzig. Want de batterijen gaan maar een paar dagen mee en zijn al aan vervanging toe. De trein vreet ze op waar je bij staat. Dit zorg er voor dat ik helaas niet meer dan 3 sterren kan geven, erg jammer. Want de set is voor de rest echt erg leuk.

Der Zug und alle Komponenten konnten problemlos mit der Anleitung zusammengebaut werden, die Anleitung ist wie gewohnt sehr übersichtlich und selbsterklärend gestaltet.

Neben dem Fahren des Zuges wird der Spielspaß durch ein „Stellwerk“ mit Signal und durch den Zugkran erweitert, mit dem die Fracht ab- und aufgeladen werden kann. Hierzu steht außerdem auch noch ein Gabelstapler und ein Geldtransporter zur Verfügung.

Der einzige technische Kritikpunkt ist der, dass die drei Baumstämme, die aus 12 runden 2x2-Bricks bestehen, beim Spielen ständig auseinanderbrechen, die Stabilität ist bei dieser Länge einfach nicht mehr gegeben. Lego könnte hier aber einfach Abhilfe schaffen, indem sie drei 12M-Crossaxle spendieren. Die runden 2x2-Bricks haben nämlich ein Cross hole, sodass sie auf der Crossaxle aufgefädelt werden könnten.

Preis ist natürlich wie immer recht hoch, da wäre eine Anpassung schon anständig.

This is the usual superb quality from Lego. The set is detailed enough to keep your child engrossed building it for some days. There's enough track to build a circle, with a Y piece for building further track that you'd have to purchase separately.

Build your tracks on hard floor and not on carpet. It needs to be properly flat. If it isn't, the train can come off the tracks. You're going to need four AAA batteries for the remote control and six for the motor locomotive. I'd definitely get rechargeable for this. You apparently can also use this train with a Lego app, but we didn't bother with that.

This is a fantastic set for boys and girls to enjoy for a long time!
