It has an exposed screw on the inside...where food sits

3 de abril de 2024So…..I don't know if my food jar is deliberately crafted with an exposed screw at the bottom middle of the inside of it, where ALL MY FOOD is supposed to be resting....or if it is a manufacturing "oopsie!" that escaped Stanley's quality control people.....but either way, it is a bad, baaaad look fior Stanley.
Think about it: if this is a deliberate design "feature,” then someone at Stanley must have been smoking crack when they came up with this "benefit." I mean...holy cannoli -- WHY would anyone think this is an acceptable ”feature”...?
It’s an exposed screw in the very bottom middle of a FOOD JAR, where all sorts of bacteria and fungi are gonna happily hide!! How is this a ‘good idea’...? Yeah, no. It isn’t.
This only adds up to nightmare cleaning issues. Which means a future ER visit for food poisoning would be in someone’s future. Truly horrible.
And if this escaped their quality control people, then how many other “oopsie” things in their manufacturing process have happened – that haven’t been caught??
Both scenarios are a giant “fail” for Stanley.
Perhaps if Stanley STOPPED MAKING THEIR PRODUCTS IN CHINA and brought their manufacturing BACK to AMERICA, then their products wouldn't turn out like…..this.
Absolutely disturbing experience.
Returning this as soon as humanly possible. Very disappointed, to say the least.

3 de junio de 2020The 1.0 QT Stanley-PMI CLASSIC LEGENDARY FOOD JAR I received has mostly performed to expectations, though I'm not entirely convinced that it would survive a 4,000 foot drop during a freezing hurricane.
Though the instruction manual comes in 12 languages, it doesn't provide any suggestions for what foods would perform best in the food jar (e.g. could I use it to make my own ice cream?) and only mentions foods that might cause excessive pressure buildup. The care guide also makes repeated mention of a "pressure release valve" without specifying what it looks like or how/why a human user would ever ingest it.
As for the food jar's insulative properties, I'm slightly disappointed on both hot and cold fronts. Per instructions, I washed and dried the product before use. I decided to test heat retention first, since soup is on the menu every day for me. One cup of piping hot vegetable soup stayed piping hot after an hour in my first test. After finishing the soup from the first test, I filled the food jar halfway with the same piping hot soup, screwed the stopper shut, and then forgot about it. After five hours, the soup was no longer piping hot, but still warmer than room temperature. I poured out half of the soup and stoppered the rest for later. After another three hours, the soup had completely assumed room temperature. I later conducted a similar test with iced coffee, and the results were more or less similar.
I realize this is all very unscientific without a food thermometer, but 8 hours of insulation is a far cry from the 20+ hours advertised on the cardboard sleeve which also claims that the food jar can stop bullets. This food jar is still better than any standard thermos I've ever used, so I would still recommend it.

17 de junio de 2021I have always wanted/needed a Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Food Jar, cause i would take my food out to places in a regular jar & food gets cold! So frustrating. Lol. So glad to finally see this Stanley Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Food Jar. I cook lot of things i can put in this food jar, that keeps my foods so hot, that don't get cold, which includes soups, stews, oatmeal, canned foods. I put my fruits & veggies in here as well & nice & fresh/cold. Also i can store cold drinks & they keep it so cold, which is the way i like it! Easy to fill & clean out. Love the insulation & stainless steel. Good quality. I love the 24oz size! Great food jar! So if u are like myself & in need/want a stainless steel insulated food jar, that is big & can store hot foods, which stays hot + cold drinks & keep them cold & stays cold, then i suggest u try this stainless insulated food jar, cause it's very handy, especially when out on the go & it can fit a lot of food/drinks in this big 24oz jar.
